Yesterday, the IRS announced via Quick Alerts, that in preparation for the upcoming 2023 Filing Season, the Business Modernized e-File (MeF) Production System will begin its annual shutdown on Monday, December 26, 2022.
Although the IRS officially begins their shutdown at 11:59 AM (NOON) ET (8:59 AM PT), to ensure that our Central Site has sufficient time to process these business returns, our acceptance deadline is 3 hours earlier at 8:59 AM ET (5:59 AM PT).
Partner Support strongly encourages you to plan accordingly and submit any Business Returns in advance of the Monday, December 26 deadline.
Any acknowledgements not retrieved by 11:59 PM ET on Monday, December 26 cannot be accessed until MeF opens for production in January 2023 (date to be announced).
- Note: The Annual Federal and State 1040 Modernized e-File Production Shutdown occurred on Saturday, November 26. Refer to prior communication for details.
