Important Note! The IRS MeF System for Individual 1040 Returns remains closed and an open date has not yet been announced by the IRS. We will share that information with our partners as soon as the official announcement is made.
To our Valued Partners:
On Friday, December 30, the IRS announced via Quick Alerts that the MeF System for e-Filing Federal Business Returns will open on Thursday, January 12 at 9:00 AM ET and will begin accepting the following forms:
- 1120 – Corporation Income Tax Return
- 1120-S – S Corporation
- 1065 – Partnership Income
- 1041 – Estates and Trusts
- 990 – Tax-Exempt Organizations
If you have already have the 2023 Business Software, TY2022 returns and two prior years can be e-filed on January 12. In addition, for partners who used the 2022 Business Software program (and were unable to transmit prior to the Business MeF shutdown on December 26, 2022 and pick-up ACKS for already e-Filed TY2021 business returns), you will be able to transmit and retrieve those ACKs (using your 2022 business software program for TY2021).
Software Version Reminder:
- The 2023 Federal Corporate Program (for preparing TY2022 business returns) was released on December 20, 2022 and is currently at Version 2023.01. Be sure you transmit often, especially at this time of the tax season, to ensure you are always at the latest software version before preparing and/or transmitting returns for your clients.
