On February 15, we shared (see Repeat below) that the IRS had recently announced a new feature available for TY2022 e-Filed 1040-X Amended Returns that allows you to choose direct deposit to speed up refunds for your clients.

We are pleased to announce that this new feature is now also available for prior year TY2021 Federal 1040-X Amended Returns. To access this feature for TY2021, simply transmit with your prior year 2022 Federal 1040 program to pickup and then apply software update 2022.035.

Note: You must be at the latest Federal 1040 Program software version .016 to access this new feature. Update Note: As of 2/22, Federal 1040 Program is now at 2023.017.
