As many of you are currently offering Pre-ACK Advance Products to your clients and as we fast approach the IRS official opening of e-file on Monday, January 24, Partner Support is once again reminding you of the importance to verify your fees BEFORE transmitting returns. Once a return is transmitted, it cannot be changed.
How To Verify Fees:
Easy to follow steps to verify fees can be found in our short Here’s How To Configure Your EFIN, Add a Bank Application to Previously Created Returns and Verify Fees document, available on your Resource Center > Documents page.
- Tip: Complete and/or verify your default EFIN configuration in the program to minimize manual data entry on each return.
How to Verify Software Version and Retrieve/Apply Updates:
Throughout the tax season, and especially during the initial weeks and days before the official opening of 1040 e-File by the IRS, it is extremely important to transmit at least daily to check for software updates and maintain your Individual, State and/or Business desktop software program(s) at the latest version as you begin preparing tax returns for your clients. Often, these software updates can contain important new forms and updates to existing forms resulting from recent tax legislation.
