Partner Support is sharing instructions on how to access important updates from the IRS regarding extensions to the upcoming October 15 filing deadline for designated disaster areas, along with other types of tax relief that have been granted to these areas.
Currently, extensions and/or tax relief have been granted to certain designated areas in Alaska, Arizona, Mississippi, Missouri, Kentucky and Puerto Rico. Following the impact from this week’s Hurricane Ian, it is likely that other areas in Florida and perhaps surrounding states will be added to the disaster list.
To view the most recent list of tax relief provided by the IRS in disaster situations based on FEMA’s declarations of individual assistance, go to the IRS Tax Relief in Disaster Situations | Español webpage and click on + 2022 to access a dropdown of the individual notices containing details and instructions for the specific state. Again, be sure to check back for any new additions.
