(Repeat From Last Week’s Report): The IRS is off to a strong start to this year’s tax season, with almost 30 million refunds worth more than $103 billion already being delivered as of February 25, 2022. For historical perspective, it’s important to remember these weekly numbers can shift dramatically during the initial weeks of filing season due to numerous factors, including the calendar and filing patterns that can change year to year. (Note: the 2021 Filing Season began Feb 12, 2021; the 2022 Filing Season began Jan. 24, 2022. The filing deadline in 2022 is April 18, 2022; the filing deadline in 2021 was May 17,2021.)
